1. She's free to say what she wants.
2. She's not only talking about songwriting. In fact, she's ok if you don't write your own songs, as long as you are able to sing. As long as you have talent and performance skills, there's nothing wrong with not writing your songs. Read the damn interview.

Her lyrics make sense and even if they did not, she still wrote them. Hence, she's an artist.

Unfortunately - this.
I mean I don't really agree that she 'needs' to accept it, I think it's good that she's fighting against it but it is a sad truth that the music industry is pretty messed up because of the fact it cares only about money in most cases, not talent.

However I really, really agree with her, I've always thought this should be the case, how can you be a credible or worthy artist in any shape or form if you don't write your own music/can't sing well, if you don't have one of these talents then what really is the point?

Taylor (who I majorly stan for so no shade intended but,) doesn't have the best voice in the industry, however her songwriting is amazing and as an artist she is extremely clever and extremely talented.
Same goes for Beyonce on the reverse, doesn't really write much of her own lyrics, yet has one of the greatest voices out there so it doesn't matter so much.

Anyone who disagrees with gaga is clearly in denial about their faves.
