but she has literally been a growing superstar since i was in elementry school and her music is always present ( she's been there all the time) basically she is this generations music.

and lately through social networking and her being a very open person...people are interested in what she has to say, thats clear from oprah

because she's gaga....she's probally the most respected pop star out since beyonce and she knows how make an impact....she knows what she wants to say and do and how to make it a reality (example gay rights)

though she may not be the hippest thing on the radio lately, i sure she will come back with fire and everyone already knows she's at the top

because she just is that black female star of this generation.....everyone knows beyonce and she feels familiar to everyone who grew up in the 2000s, shes a superstar and most importantly not just fans an teenagers know that but old people do as well

Well, they have a point from a perspective of who has the most and biggest hits of the current era, but Katy's hits are mostly only bigger in North America and Oceania than Gaga's bigger hits. Either way, I personally like to define "voice of the generation" by cultural relevance and impact, and in that regard the winner is clear.
