Girls’ Generation Ranked First for the Third Year in a Row in Polls
End of the year polls and surveys are recognizing Girls’ Generation’s talent and popularity. For the respected Gallup Korea poll, the singer of the year for 2011 is Girls’ Generation.
Gallup Korea gathered votes from people from the ages of 13 to 59 about the three singers voters felt were the most active. Out of 3401 votes, Girls’ Generation had the most with 26.1%, landing them in first place for the third year in a row. The group was first among each age bracket, truly showing their title as “Nation’s Idol”.
This year Girls’ Generation got number one for six weeks in a row on KBS “Music Bank” with their single, “The Boys”. They also had a successful entrance into Japan ranking fifth for the highest CD/DVD sales in the country. Girls’ Generation shows that their number one ranking for three years in a row has been well earned.
For 2011′s most popular song, Girls’ Generation’s “The Boys” was in third place with 2.7% of the votes.
