Though I'm wondering why people are making such a huge deal about this on Twitter. I'm not sure people realize that this is a) only for the UK and b) that Thriller isn't the all time best-selling album there.
Because of the scale and legacy of Thriller compared to 21. 21 is a great album, but did jack from a cultural perspective. Whereas thriller changed a lot. Anyway congrats to her.

And? The album did more than enough for its time period. It sold well in a time when we thought albums couldn't scan as much as old albums, something none of your favorites could do with triple the 'culture impact.' It has done a lot; it's going down in history.
I don't know why some people are so mad about this. They should be happy someone can sell so much in this day and age, and it's at least someone as talented as she is and not freaking LMFAO or something.

at people being pressed over this. Not surprising at all and yet still amusing to watch.
Anyways, congrats to her. Forget snatching her contemporaries' wigs, she's coming for the legends now. I don't see anyone else come close to repeating this phenomenon in the near future.
