Image and sales tend to go hand in hand nowadays. That's just how it is. People are literally buying into the image when they purchase her songs. And her singles have done really well, her videos are breaking views. It doesn't necessarily mean she has the majority support of the urban community, but she has gained popularity by changing her sound and image. There's just no denying it.

There's nothing to prove if that that would actually happen. Can't Be Tamed sold 100k first week and Bangerz 270k, a 150% increase in sales. There's proof to show that people are buying into Miley's image.
