The only thing wrong about what happened there is that the cats were kept in inhuman conditions. Same thing applies to chickens, cows, pigs etc. in the West.
I bet 99% of people commenting here don't know what is an ACTUAL hunger is, when kids don't eat for days and have big bellies filled with air, mothers are desperate and cook bugs and cockroaches they find on their way.

I would never eat a cat or dog, but eating rabbit is normal. And it's legal to eat rabbits in Canada and the states if you bought it from the deli store or hunted it following the hunting regulations. Obviously eating a rabbit that was meant as a pet is not legal.

WTH? Like if there's no more chicken, lamb or beef in the world. 
Cats and dogs are companion animals, we shouldn't eat them no matter what happens, but this is coming from people who eat snakes, rats and insects especially cockroaches.

A Muslim is allowed to eat pork under 1circumstance if there is NO other food around at all whatsoever and eating pork is the only way to stop yourself starving to death.
Muslims are not allowed to eat pork because if you think about it, you're eating whatever the animal eats - that's feces, rotten food etc....yuck! Also, eating of pork can cause different types of diseases. So at least there's a satisfying reason.
In Hinduism, the cow is revered as the source of food and symbol of life and may never be killed, that doesn't make any sense to me though.

It's not the cats or dogs fault, it's the ladies/mom that couldn't keep their legs closed, just that.
What makes it wrong or weird is the fact that most of ppl use cats and dogs as pet not as food which can't be said about cows, pigs, chickens, lambs,etc. I mean it's not like I go walking down the street thinking omg, I'm hungry, let me cook my cat

It's not Western ignorance. It's difference. On this side, cats, dogs, birds (except chickens) and others are seen as companion animals that can become essentially family members. Of course it's gonna be gross to us but you can't sit up here and say that NONE of us ever thought that somewhere on this great big world, these animals were eaten as food just because we don't eat them.
Hell, in this very country, in the deep cracks of it, some people eat fresh roadkill. Right off the road. Thinking someone might eat a cat ain't so many ways off from that.

Last time I checked it takes two people to have a kid, so get out with this blaming ******** and have a seat. And not all pregnancies are chosen.
I'm not saying I support killing cats &dogs for food but when it's a choice between that or having your family starve to death, there's not a lot of options especially if you're living in a communist country that is overpopulated and you're poor as ****. You have to learn that not everyone's cultural perspective is the same.

This is not for the poor, those poor cats were supposed to be served to customers in restaurants. Not only cats and dogs, but also rats, snakes, and insects. And if someone's poor, they can find any job to save money and buy REAL food.
