Kind of a weird selection here. Several of these albums aren't even acclaimed. But anyway, of the choices, 1989 and Born to Die are both pretty horrid and snoozy. But Born to Die at least has a couple songs with halfway decent melodies so I'll go with 1989. EMOTION and BEYONCÉ are really the only two great albums here though.

I think part of The Fame Monster's seeming lack of praise has to do with the fact that it's sort of considered an EP, which generally don't get as much attention as full LPs. Were it its own album rather than just something tacked onto the end of the Fame era as part of a rerelease it'd probably be more lauded.

(But I don't really care for it beyond a few tracks so I'm not particularly upset that it's overlooked mostly on a technicality hihi)

1989 is just plain terrible and EMOTION is just as basic as 1989.

BEYONCE' hasn't inspired any other artists, affected the music scene MUSICALLY (the way BLACKOUT did) nor is it even remembered at this point DESPITE being rammed in everyones faces constantly as this groundbreaking, shocking album..

The fact that BLACKOUT is still included in countless of these polls despite being released almost 10 years ago, its songs are still played and included on soundtracks, films etc. and discussed on many websites for its influence on what music was to sound like in the years that followed says an awful lot about this so called OVERRATED album..

Blackout literally SET THE TREND FOR POP MUSIC AFTER ITS RELEASE.. It established Danja as super producer, basically cemented Bloodshy & Avant within the pop scene and put The Clutch on the map (who were taking off at the time) .. It also spawned a top 3 mega comeback single, which is played to death even today (despite ZERO promotion), A top 20 single (zero promo), A top 50 single (zero promo) and a Top 100 single (zero promo) .. The album also helped to launch Robyn into the mainstream down to nothing but backing vocals on Piece of Me.

A top 50 and top 100 single? Groundbreaking. I'm not going to deny Blackout is a good album and I definitely believe it was influential in some respects but this is reaching delusion levels.

Please inform me of this elaborate over the top promo? Also love how you're dragging Beyoncé for making a big deal about her music. Isn't that kind of the point? Drunk In Love went to #2, what would one extra position change? So many flaws in this argument.
