It really is a horrible picture. She was so beautiful in 1993 and somehow THAT'S what became the most memorable thing about the era.

I understand why it's iconic but from an aesthetic standpoint I don't like the full picture either. There are so many things she could have done with her face. Her expression is so blank and unflattering.

There were beautiful photos from the janet. era, I know they could've shot a much more appealing cover.

Maybe Dream Street, but the debut knocks. You have to remember she was 15 at the time. What were you expecting her to sing about?
