I don't know why people keep trying to make rihanna a role model (gaga and adele are not good role models either)
but going by this logic Rihanna is also a good role model because even though everyone criticizes her, telling her how to behave and tries to put her into a mold she still breaks free and continues to live her life. so inspiring

Exactly. Rebecca ferguson came for Riri too, but she had kids out of wedlock, not once but twice. She's no more perfect. If this was Maya Angelou (who I adore) I'd agree. But I ain't taking it from an imperfect person.

So she's not a singer, writer, dancer, or role model. Question Existing, who is the real Robyn Fenty?

The US media didn't make her say this mess tho:
Quote:
“When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part,” she expressed.
“I couldn’t be held responsible for telling them ‘”Go back”,” she continued. “Even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say that their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say that they won’t kill these girls? These are young girls. I just didn’t realize what an impact I had on these young girls’ lives until that happened.”

I like how the media is always using the term role model for the women. The male artist never get questioned as much about being a good role model like the girls do.

There's no such thing as a "perfect" person. Everyone has imperfections. You can still be a role model and have flaws.
Anyway, her goal isn't to be a role model. Her goal is to provide music to the public. But it's not as if she never tried to be a role model before.

No it's true. My mother is my role model. You could pick Martin Luther king, or a saint or Leona Lewis. Or mariah carey. There are other alternatives. Or even Katy perry (she's not perfect, but doesn't pimp herself out). You dont have to choose one. IMO it should be a family member or a teacher.

I agree TBH.
I hope Rihanna is not a role model for anyone TBH..
She's been a mess latley, I feel like she's going to have a big breakdown/crisis soon..
I also think that from the big girls now, only Adele is a really good role mode..

When have young pop stars ever been great role models? Almost every pop star in recent years has been criticized or deem controversial.

I didn't mean it like that. I meant someone with glaring flaws (ie put riri's lyrics INTO practice). I know what riri's goal is. And she never wanted to be one, she started out at 16. Just a teen, by rated r she was barely 20. This role model weight is a lot for a young person. Of course we can have flaws, but if you raise your kids right, there won't be an issue IMO.

No. She cusses publicly, smokes, also this whole not skinny thing, annoys me, she's overweight. We can celebrate her music, but promoting unhealthiness annoys me. It costs the UK government to deal with that. For me the best one is Beyonce. apart from the shady songwriting, she's perfect. Married, then had a child, is nice, beautiful etc.
