Every No Doubt song (besides a select few) has been written solely by No Doubt, so of course.
The most important of which spent 16 weeks at the top of the radio charts. Good job writing Don't Speak, Gwen and Eric Stefani ![Gay Cat](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/random/cat_zpsebvh5uip.png)

The producers got writers credit, but they didn't write the actual lyrics. Stevie Nicks is even credited as a writer on Bootylicious even though she was jump sampled.

I suspect they'll become more common in light of certain practices.
And I cannot with people who are arguing about Mariah Carey. She writes her own lyrics. She's done that for years, even when it wasn't as common for artists to have writing credits. Of course she's not going to write a bunch of arrangements for different instruments, melodies, etc. Unless someone has a music degree or decades of experience, I wouldn't believe anyone who claimed they did that.

Well this is asking about whole songs written solely by your faves, not just the lyrics. The lyrics come after the main songwriting to fit whatever has been written.
And mess, you don't need music degrees or decades of experience to write songs all by yourself ![toofunny2](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/faces/toofunny2_zpsb54f2d2d.gif) How do you think every garage band that ever became popular wrote their songs? Or even Katy and Gaga, when they were writing without any outside producers back in the day/before getting signed.

I'm not going to compare a song written by a garage band to a top 10 hit. They're different things. I would also note that such songs would likely be composed by the whole band (who have knowledge of different instruments) rather than one person.

I don't even think she's credited, sis! Great song, though.
