Hi guys. I just read yesterday's messy thread Monsters vs. Kitty Kats: Why The Hate? http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=171834 and I wanted to share my opinion with you here 'cause that thread is now a flop.

I used to drag Katy until my opinion on her changed last month. I'll try to explain why I respect Katy. She's a complete artist. She writes her own songs + plays an instrument + she has a very interesting past as an artist. I mean, she wasn't hired because of her sex appeal, she had an album before. JUST LIKE GAGA now.

I love her voice. Of course, she'll not be the vocalist of the year + she may sing out of tune many times. But she has that special voice, that iconic tone people like Britney has that makes her unmistakable. Songs like The One That Got Away or Not Like The Movies are the proof.

But there are things about her I dislike, too. First of all, her singles are mostly dance songs. Why doesn't she dance a full, coordinated choreography? Just like she takes her guitar and sings her heart in TOTGA, she should dance her ass off in LFN or CG, for example. Also, I loathe the way she manages her talent. She's so much more talented than this album Teenage Dream and I, she and we know that. She could make the kind of music Florence Welch or Lana del Rey does with her voice. Again, Not Like The Movies is the proof. Her dance songs could be deeper too. My fave has dance songs like ScheiBe or Dance in the Dark with a powerful meaning behind.

And that's all. I can't wait to hear her next album and see her evolution as an artist. I could stan for her easily if she takes a slightly different way in her career.

I respect your reasonings. No jabs or shade thrown at all. Just a respectable opinion on your views on Katy. I read through that thread, and things just went messy in a little under 30 posts, so it was no use to post, because people weren't listening.
