ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Okay, Jeff, tell us about the big theme for season 32.What made you want to return to the Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty theme that you did in season 28 for Cagayan?
JEFF PROBST: It was during casting. As we started seeing people, it became obvious we had another really clear division of brains, brawn, and beauty. For instance, a woman who scored a perfect SAT, a former NBA bruiser, and a Vietnamese gay gardener who loves all living things.
You actually filmed this season before the Second Chance season, which is the first time ever you have aired seasons out of order from when you filmed them. Is it weird to come back to this season now after such a long time living with Second Chance?
You would think it would be due to the time delay, but we were actually very happy with this season and have been excited to bring it to our fans. It is very different from Second Chance. And because BvBvB II was shot first, the players didn’t see the evolution of voting blocs or any of the twists that happened in Second Chance, so it really is a completely different season.
How are the weather and conditions different in this season coming up (which was filmed last spring) than they were for Second Chance?
Knowing what I know about Cambodian weather, I am guessing even hotter, but a lot less rainy. EXTREMELY HOT. No lie. Some of the hottest days of my Survivor career. And you will see it play out during the season. Cambodia is no joke.
Give us one more good tease as far as what to expect coming up in season 32.
Big characters, big moves, and big drama.
