But S(WDKY) is already peaking and the album hasn't even returned to the top ten even once. And it was a huge hit, the kind of hit that should send people scammering to buy the album. I blame this all on the My December era Although I love the album, it never should've happened. Ever since then her album sales have been mediocre at best And it was coming off of a great era! If she'd have released All I Ever Wanted as a follow up to Breakaway who knows, she might've still been an album artist to reckoned with...

I get how you're feeling, but don't be too disappointed. I never understood why she released My December until recently, when I was just playing through it and really listened to the song Irvine. Kelly wasn't in a happy place and I think MD was very therapeutic for her. It is for me when I'm feeling a certain way and I wouldn't switch that for anything. Like Kelly always says, sometimes there just isn't an aligning of the stars: the music might be there, the style might be there, but it just doesn't work. It happens, that's life. With that being said, Stronger (the album) is estimated to sell more than 15,000 copies this week and so should finally pull ahead of the total sales for All I Ever Wanted after the same amount of time (I think 22 weeks). By that time, AIEW was selling around 5000 copies a week, and by the end of its run it just missed platinum. That means Stronger is more likely than not to reach and surpass platinum in domestic sales!
Kelly's got Dark Side coming up, and I think we can be sure she'll be performing on Idol (maybe even at the finale) and she said once the tour is over, she'll do some TV promotion (e.g. The View, Jimmy Kimmel, maybe Ellen again). Not to mention she'll be on that show Duets in the summer, singing every week as a mentor AND is on TV for the rest of this month (at least for a few minutes every week on The voice) reminding people she's out there and she's awesome
. So sales should stay steady, and if they drop, they'll probably go up and down around this level.
Like another user said, people might be more inclined to buy an album when they hear two or more songs that they really like from it, not just one, especially when its NOT a new artist. Think about what you would do if you weren't really into an artist's recent music and you heard just one song that you loved. Mr.KIA peaked nicely but it's so forgettable, that's why I think Dark Side could be a turning point for Stronger. If not, there's always LMD, IFY or even Sun Will Rise (which I think could be a hit on Pop, Hot AC, AC AND Country, pulling in sales from all those formats) and I think RCA have proven this era that they've got Kelly's back, so we can probably trust them more with the singles. Finally, you never know, Dark Side might win a Grammy
and that would certainly encourage higher sales.
At the end of the day, I don't think Kelly stans can complain too much. She's in a good place right now and we've got a lot to be excited for in the future with the new singles, videos, TV performances etc. Let's just enjoy it and pray for the best

Did NOT mean to write that much...
