This isn't a very typical indie band. Not what I expected after hearing "We Are Young". They make very pop-ish music. I hear Queen, Fleetwood Mac, a little Maroon 5, a little Blink-182-ish stuff, OneRepublic, Kanye West, Bon Iver, and 4 Non Blondes (interesting) in their album. There's a lot of diversity, which is to be expected from a debut album. Overall, it's decent. B-

This is not their debut album. Aim and Ignite was their debut album. I agree though that there's a lot of diversity in 'Some Nights'.
Either "Why Am I the One" or the intro for me. God, that intro is so Queen-esque. And I ****ing LOVE it.
A very solid album that takes a lot of risks is something that you don't see often enough in pop nowadays. Good for these guys.
+1. The intro kinda reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody.
I feel like the album hasn't fully grown on me yet but I already love it. And I love the change of tempo on Why Am I The One. I might have a new favorite song after a few more listen.
I just listened to this in full for the first time, and I'm very impressed. My least favourite track is Stars, tbh. I really like every other song on the album.
