Oh thank God for this thread! Okay, so a couple of weeks ago, I've decided to sit down and give Bionic the listen it deserves. I've listened to snippets before, unfocused, and thought it was a horrible album. but I decided to give it another shot. Boy was I wrong!
The whole album is truly an experience to be honest. I can't believe I actually hated this and now it's become one of my favorite pop albums! The songs, the interludes, the emotion is all so amazing to listen and each adds something special to the album. I also felt like the album was personal to Christina, you can literally feel like every song on the album is someway somehow describing an aspect of her personality and life.
The ballads are a definitely highlight in the album and are probably on off her best songs of all time. I really do feel like Bionic is an album like no other and is truly "ahead of it's time". We did you so wrong X. I truly do have a lot more respect for her as an artist. And once you compare it to Lotus, you truly feel like her 2012 effort is really tired and generic compared to Bionic. A true body of work. A pop masterpiece
Good job X for turning me around and making me love you.

Monday Morning, Birds of Prey, Little Dreamer, Bionic, Glam, Elastic Love, I Am, Bobblehead, WooHoo, My Girls are "generic" songs? Really? You can hate the songs all you want, but you wanna slip that into the definition of GENERIC pop music? There's a few that you could question - but even then, they're not really generic at all.
Embarrassing, I think they may be confusing Bionic and Lotus. Or just regurgitating information as per usual. Even Not Myself Tonight is so oddly structured that I have trouble consider it a generic pop song. The only song I think is beyond generic on the album is I Hate Boys.

Sis, not while Lotus exists. Lotus is xtina's least passionate, most half-assed album yet. the first three tracks, blank page, and cease fire are the only good songs and even then, they don't come close to being great

It's not amazing but it's too long and has tons of filler. But it also has some amazing tracks.
Lotus is much much worse.

It paved the way to the mess of Art Pop, the whole Bionic theme that no one likes to point out.
Xtina of course did it so effortless. BIONIC remains on everyone's minds 3 years later.
When will your Faves produce Such magic as.
You lost me,Woohoo,Bionic,I AM,Lift me Up, Birds of Prey,Monday Morning,
I dedicate Vanity to all you HATERS!

It's boring to me.
Visually the era was flawless. I love its palette, the booklet, the clothes, the photoshoot. The album cover is flawfree, but when it comes to the music... meh, an uninspired mess.

It has many gems. And Christina was the one that introduced Sia to the mainstream public, so there would be no Diamonds without Bionic.
It's your average pop album, definitely not worse than 98% of what the most influential pop stars put out every year.

Bionic was ahead of its time and the older it gets the more people will come to appreciate it.
Legend was SO RIGHT.

Alright, this thread has confused me enough that I'm gonna go listen to the album again. Lemme see if I just missed something the first few times I listened.

Neither a bad album nor a masterpiece. It has a lot of fillers in my opinion, without them it could have been a really great album. She did a lot of new things with her voice on that record. She went lower than ever before, and it is not oversung at all (except for some ballads). We should remember she was forced to go back to studio and record more radio-friendly songs after Burlesque. So, I can assure the original vision of Bionic got lost.

I still prefer Lotus over Bionic, even though both are good albums I find Lotus to be superior. Lotus remains the first and only Christina album that I've bought
