Basically, MTV is nominating the hits, not the video which the award show is all about. These damn basic girls can take everything they want as long as they are aware they won't be for sure remembered in the future, certain people in the list are just teenage dreams.
Exactly, that is the only explanation for RITD's VOTY. A damn mess
I find it hard to be upset by VMA snubs, oversights and bad calls. It's not so much an opportunity for MTV to honor video making as it is an opportunity for MTV to honor a handful of the year's biggest hits and the designated it girl for that year's award show. Throw in a nod for an indie (or as indie as MTV can get) act for credibility's (LOL) sake and you're all set. They can delight in their incredibly good fortune should it be discovered that any of the year's favored acts actually made a good video.
The trinity and other major players have, in my opinion, not really delivered anything that amazing on the video front. Neither Rihanna or Ke$ha have delivered amazing videos. Brit's, Gaga's and Beyoncé's efforts have been adequate at best. In my mind they were nominated in the categories for which they deserved to be nominated.
