Do you Katy stans realize that there are countries OUTSIDE of it?
Britney has 9 worldwide #1 hits, MOST of which didn't even have a lot of support from the US and the 3rd highest amount of top 10 worldwide hits of all time behind Mariah and Madonna. Let's not.

The biggest popstar as of right now is Adele.
America doesn't care about GaGa.
Europe doesn't care about GaGa.
Rihanna isn't doing much.
It's a toss up between Katy, Bieber & Adele. I just chose the one that can still hold a top 5 in the Billboard Hot 200.

1. I hope you're not talking about Gaga. I don't know who CM's fave is but Gaga and Katy have the same number.
Edit: It's Britney? You look even more wrong now. 
2. Katy had 6 #1 hits, she should not be selling less than an album with singles that apparenly flopped. But since Gaga's hits are usually bigger worldwide on average, I suppose it makes sense that Katy sold less.
3. Gaga has now outsold TTT, 4, Femme Fatale, TD, Loud, and every other recent non-21 release by major musicians. And her tour is multiple times bigger than Katy's, she's going to outgross it by the end of the Oceania leg. And she hasn't even hit the biggest touring markets yet.
4. Let's see if I can use that same mindset with something else: So Adele's selling a lot of albums right now, but so does someone else who's currently less successful, so therefore Adele isn't the most successful, some unrelated third party is. Just because. Great logic!!!

Adele. She's definitely the biggest selling star at the moment. I'm not sure if she will release turning tables as her last single but there's currently no single out to promote the album now that rhi is already falling hard yet 21 is still selling like crazy! She's a force to reckon with.

Katy has lot of success in other countries outside US, it's not like the Kats need to ignore them.

Not to mention, once again. Britney has had 4th and 5th singles do well worldwide before like BTMYH hitting #1 worldwide without even being released in the US and DLMBTK flopping in the US but still reaching the top 10 worldwide.

Gaga's name,influence,cultural impact,sales is way bigger then all pop girls of this generation.this is not my opinion,it's a FACT

Whoah everyone hold their horses.
How on earth is Gaga the biggest pop star at the moment? Her last single flopped and she's been barely a whisper in the publics ears ever since she lost hard at the Grammys.
And are we seriously arguing about Adele being Pop or not? That's a pointless argument. She won the POP Grammys, she classified as POP by nearly anyone you ask.
At the current moment, it's an obvious tie between Rihanna, Katy Perry, and her. All have had unparalleled success in the last few months (Single sales, album sales) and have been in the publics and magazines mouths on a daily basis
EDIT: And all of you claiming Gaga is the biggest "influence" among her current peers, the only one she's influencing is some ratchety ass wannabe-ghetto girl that had a moderate hit.

A re-release that was Teenage Dream + 3 songs... just because it's a new single doesn't mean she should be selling millions.
Teenage Dream sold more Albums+Singles than Gaga in US and WW too. Many of Katy singles sold more than 5 million only in US.... not including her WW sales...
Gaga has a bigger tour because she's bigger than Katy as an artist, like Madonna is bigger than Gaga... but right now, general public care more about Katy than Gaga.
ADELE is huge, but i don't consider her a popstar.

I Kissed A Girl, Hot N Cold, California Gurls, Teenage Dream, and Firework were all big hits WW. The last three weren't anything to write home about, but Katy is doing just fine in other countries.
