Tragic.
Lauren was doing playback?
And the outfits are ugly
They betta do justice to this perfect song next time
Lauren was singing the chorus you could hear her mic feed.
Tbh, she was the only one that stayed in time, on on key. And repeating "work work work work" is actually harder than singing an actual verse.
Why did they sound so breathy? Like I know there's choreo but in the very beginning before they even started moving Camila was breathy as hell Were they running a marathon before they did this performance
Normani is definitely the best performer of the group. Her part was actually on-key and she wasn't out of breath. Also she slayed all of her dance moves
I think it's promising that they're being held to such high standards that people are disappointed. I think the performance was on par. They weren't exceptional, but they were expectedly nervous. I think we all forget the majority of the group are still teenagers. They will definitely get better with each performance, but here are my thoughts:
- Normani was most on-point with the dancing, but she started off-key and stayed off-key
- I guess we're back to styling Ally badly again...
- Dinah was most disappointing. She wavered in her vocal and Camila had to hit the last note for her
- As much as it might disappoint fans, they need to go to a backing track for Lauren's chorus. It would give them a chance to focus on the choreo
- I agree that Camila was the strongest. I thought she anchored well and was clearly the most comfortable on-stage
- I think they should lay off a bit of the choreo during their parts and include a rap breakdown where they can really showcase the dancing without having to focus on vocals
Bottom Line: I bet that because this was on a family-friendly event, they were conservative in their performance. They looked visually uncomfortable in their outfits, which did not match the song. They'll be fine on the next one!
Camilla sounds a MESS at the end!!! Take it away from her so Lauren can shine, she killed the studio version but is doing the most live, she was doing the most right before the last chorus kicked off too over harmonizing ass needs to relax a bit
Overall the performance was goodish. But Camila's vocals were a mess. She sounded like she was trying too hard to outshine the others and failed completely.
If ally didn't look a hot ass mess she would have been the one bright spot in this performance.
They all sounded a mess Normani is forever off key, Camilla was the little engine that could not help but overdue it, Ally was out of breath but not too terrible, Dinah tried to slay but couldn't quite get there, and Lauren was so excited for this performance that she recorded her vocals months ahead of time in the studio.
Dance wise they need to use headsets for this song.
Lauren was the only one you cannot drag in this performance but that is likely due to the fact she was inaudible. Normani at least sounded like the studio version, just a little breathy (the song just started?) and off. Ally was a bit breathy, dramatic, and styled horribly. Dinah couldn't even get her four lines out. However, Camila opening her mouth is comparable to opening the gates of hell. I will never understand why she gets so much mic time.

You can actually. She's just on point so much that it sounds like the track.
If you listen you can hear her breathing, and when she takes the mic away before the second "work from home" its softer but then goes back loud again.
