If you make yourself vulnerable that way. It's not deserved, but it's more likely hun.
That's all were saying.

what an asshole great way to blame the victim and not the perpetrator. Wasn't big fan of her I swear some celebs need to just state "no comment" on some topics.

Finally some people with common sense

Bitch, you sound dumb. Common sense is realizing that a rapist doesn't have a certain profile so you might as well always have your guard up. It can be someone you trust, even family. You can never put yourself in that situation. It's wrong, period.
So if she was 21, drunk, and got raped it would be better because she was of age?

Wait, people are seriously talking about "consequences"? So because someone is drunk they somehow deserve to get raped? Rape is not a "consequence" of getting drunk. Drunk driving, falling over and hurting yourself - THOSE are actual "consequences" that happen directly because people get drunk and can't control themselves. RAPE is the fault of SOMEONE ELSE taking advantage of another person in a weakened situation.
That I even have to explain this

Nobody is excusing rapists, but they exist And you have to do what you can to protect yourself from being victimized. That's all she was saying! If you CAN take preventive measures, then you SHOULD. Nobody is saying rapists shouldn't still be punished or that victims shouldn't be defended.

I don't know.
Everyone ought to be responsible for themselves, but I can't excuse rape and blame the victim.
Rape is never the victim's fault. Never ever.
No, she should not have gotten drunk or been drinking at age 16, but even if she weren't drunk or if she we 21 or older, it would not have been her fault.

In that very paragraph you quoted from me I even said rape was wrong period, and im not blaming it solely on the girl, but some of it is her fault, because again if you take more responsibility and were maybe more "careful" things like that wouldn't happen.
but when you're supper drunk and not in control of yourself and doing gods knows what to even get you into that predicament..then obviously you did something wrong.
Rape is disgusting, and I don't condone it. Seriously there are some girls who are so promiscuous, immature and loose, and then something like this happens to them, but if they'd been more restrained some situations such as these( especially in high school) wouldn't happen.
The boys are just as wrong,or even more so...still the girl here wasn't THAT innocent ,because she was underage drinking.

Go back and read your original post.
" you reap what you sow"
Is that not basically saying the girl deserved it?
" Seriously there are some girls who are so promiscuous, immature and loose, and then something like this happens to them, but if they'd been more restrained some situations such as these( especially in high school) wouldn't happen."
And you contradict yourself yet again with this dumbass comment. Promiscuity does not invite rape. It doesn't make you more susceptible to rape. You are still at risk for being raped even if you're a virgin who dresses like a nun. The only way to guarantee that you never become a victim of rape is to live on an island by yourself.
The irony of you calling anyone an imbecile when you spew ignorant nonsense like this.

Yes, rape is a horrible thing. No, I don't think it's right to blame the victim. But yes, I think it is OKAY to say "you have to make better decisions". What's so " " about that?
It's general life lesson & I'm pretty sure her own parents and family discussed the same thing with her after the entire situation, and probably are a lot more strict about where she goes and what she does.
It's not punishing her, blaming her. It's further teaching.

Nope.. I don't believe many are saying that, unfortunately some are.

Hmm even if you don't directly put yourself in the situation to be raped (no one truly does). You are indirectly a target whenever someone feels that they can abuse you in such way. There is no putting yourself in a position to be raped because it does not exist. Instead of worrying about the "harsh" punishment of the boys, she should have just emphasized upon parents teaching their children to be more aware of their surroundings, because ANYTHING can happen. Not because it's her fault, not because she was drunk, and not because she was 16. (believe me the drinking age limit is a lot lower in certain countries).

Didn't I just see you implying the girl was a "hoe" that probably consented to sex before backing out, and that sometimes people who get raped are just as much to blame as the rapist, and that sometimes you reap what you sow? I mean.
