Tonight is another episode of KUWTK. They've hyped for a week now that they're going to talk about Taylor once again.
This shade spikes interest in tonight's episode, thus being a method to boost ratings and it's at least a try to save a declining show.

It's not necessarily for keeping Kim herself relevant, it's for the show, which is the main source of their popularity, to become bigger again.
