I disagree. When Born This Way was released, there were a deluge of people, you may not have been among them, that continually stated that there was nothing commercially appealing or radio friendly about the album. We can't just fast forward 4 years and say it was radio friendly but in a different way and say that Katy had something GaGa didn't musically.
The fact is that Gaga had become oversaturated in both the market and media and the GP refused to buy. It didn't help that the material released was more for her fan base than the casual fan.
