Where's your logic? 'Teenage Dream' has lasted so long because it's continuously charted in the lower regions of the Top 200 for the past two-three years or so, lower hence not copious amounts of sales. It's called longevity. It's better than being front-loaded and then being nowhere to be found years later, imo. It just means that Katy will consistently sell her album for many years to come.

Let's not forget that the BB200 had a recurrent rule before where albums were not allowed to re-enter / were removed to the catalog chart once they had fallen below #100 if they were over a year (or maybe it was 2 years) old. They didn't change this rule till like 2009.

It makes the achievements of older albums that have stayed on that long even more impressive.

21 still has a long way to go, but I think even stans of other artists would concede that, if any album by a female artist is to surpass the legendary Tapestry (which has held this record for more than 40 years), it should be 21.

Also re: Teenage Dream, this is a great accomplishment by an album which has been dismissed by some as just frothy, throwaway pop music. No album can have such longevity on the charts if it isn't constantly finding new fans to appreciate it.

Good for Katy it's such a solid album

Taylor Swift's numbers are also impressive. I doubt she'll ever repeat that, especially since Speak Now and RED couldn't manage that longevity
