VATO'S FAVORITE SONGS OF2013
27. Matt Nathanson - Mission Bells
His masterpiece of an album "Last of the Great Pretenders" ended up becoming one of my favorite albums of 2013; and this song was the immediate stand out from said album. I loved this song soo much that I had to go back to listen to his discography and it's safe to say I'm a stan now
26. Queen of Pop - Pour It Up
Yes, she made us wait 4794 months for the video and yes, I kinda overplayed this masterpiece when UnapoloGOD came out as it was one of my favorites from the album, but I would be lying if I said this song didn't stick with me for the majority of 2013, it's that good. Expect the Queen to appear THREE more times on my list
25. Juicy J Feat. Trey Songz and Wale - Bounce It
Sure, Bandz a Make Her Dance was a cute bop and all, but this song is truly genius. One of the best hip-hop songs of the year. It deserved a lot more success than it had
24. Paramore - Still Into You
The inescapable sleeper hit of 2013. I wasn't too excited about this song when I first heard it, but it wasn't long until I saw the light and it grew on me like crazy. In the future, whenever I listen to this BOP, I will always think of summer 2013
23. Ciara - Body Party
I've been lowkey stanning for him since 2004. He manages to release bop after bop even after all these years, and 2013 was no exception.
22. Queen of Pop - Diamonds
A somewhat bittersweet entry. It came out a couple weeks after my husband passed away so I can't help but reminisce about the brutal grief whenever I listen to it. It's one of her best singles ever though, so it would be unfair to neglect it because of the emotional baggage. It was in the top 10 of my list last year, and it manages to sneak into the top 30 this year
21. Katy Perry - Walking On Air
The best song of Katy Perry's career. I will never understand why it went practically unnoticed when it came out, I guess you'd have to have been alive in the early 90s to understand its brilliance. It SCREAMS C+C Music Factory, La Bouche, and all those eurodance acts from said period of time. Katy singing in her lower register is probably one of my favorite moments in pop history.
