And just because people don't talk about it doesn't meant it never happened. It's like talking to brick wall with some of these gerls.

Um? You called out Gaga on the very things I stated. What am I missing?

I could believe this if they all hadn't come back to back. We know how pop music works, one person sees a formula and the crowd runs with it, you can't go from Tik Tok to We R Who We R and expect us to jump on the train that you're riding.
|
Gaga started writing "Born This Way" before any of those songs were released though (even on album). February of 2010. "Teenage Dream" wasn't released until the summer of that year, WRWWR in October of that year.

No he did not say "them" he said "they're white women". He did not refer to their status. He referred to the fact that their race was white and their gender was female that they would not know prejudice. It's ********.

So talking about Katy and Ke$ha then, their songs are solely about general self-empowerment without any specific examples of gayness (discounting the Firework video), poverty, famine or anything like that (it's even a stretch to call the Ke$ha song a self-empowerrment song cause it's actually about dancing like you're dumb dumb dumb but lemme just humor that guy for a second). Don't you think it's likely that Katy and Ke$ha went through periods of low self-esteem during their starting days as artists and now that they are famous, they can sing about that to other people who still have low self-esteem? How is that dishonest?
And if the point you're getting from this is that self-empowerment songs by white privileged artists are dishonest, why did you name the thread "Gay Guy DRAGS Gaga for filth?"
|
The songs were all made around the time gays were committing suicides. These girls aren't fools, they saw a chance for a hit and ran with it, weve been over that many times. Gaga may have started working on hers before then, but she wanted that "Gay Crown" and has wanted it since the gays declared her their queen. You cannot tell me Born This Way was 100% honest, with no intention of milking gays for everything we give to women we worship.
And girl the title is here for ratings, I don't flop.

Gaga's only trying to help. Ungrateful ****.

So because Gaga helps the gays we need to worship her? Maybe that's her plan.

Well, first of all, she's bisexual. Secondly, because she's not gay or lesbian, it's wrong for her to join the movement? If we didn't have allies, there wouldn't be an effective gay rights movement.

This is called being grateful. No matter what you think, Gaga is very loyal to her friends and very first fans. She's still touring with Semi Precious Weapons and Lady Starlight. So, it's obvious that she will have a special bound with the first people that accepted her.
She always say how much the gay community was the first to support her, requesting Just Dance like crazy. Even before her big break, she was playing in gay clubs in NY. She's paying back for where she is right now and you should be happy about it.

People ignore the fact that she's ACTUALLY helping and prefer to just keep talking **** like "she's fake, she's not gay, BLABLABLA", **** it. We don't know her, you don't know her. This is plain stupid.
And no, he isn't hot

You obviously do not need to do that since you and others spend a lot of energy hating on Gaga when she is just helping us. I guess if you wanna fight against gay allies now rather than homophobes...
The alternative would be to not expreessly like Gaga, her persona, her music and attention whoring and not buy her CDs but still appreciate what she's doing for you. A lot of people seem to be unable to do that.

No one said anyone needs to worship Gaga. We're just asking why the guy in the video, along with you all supporting him have a problem with Gaga advocating gay rights.

True...
Gaga
Katy
Ke$ha
Will never know how it feels to be bullied while being gay! Though some statements weren't quite right but being straight I don't know how it feels, okay I forgot what I was going to say

Can we also talk about how almost the only google results for "Kelly Rowland Gay Icon" are this tumblr post and one actual mention of her as a gay icon on page 2 on www.washingtonblade.com?
And if I look for "Lady Gaga Gay Icon", the first hit is the wikipedia page for Gay Icon (in which she is mentioned) and the third one an article from Washington Post titled "Lady Gaga, Already a Gay Icon, Shows She's an Activist Too"? I appreciate that Kelly Rowland is LGBT friendly and has a relatively large gay fanbase but let's not act like she's more of a gay icon than Lady Gaga
|
I swear, a girl performs at gay related events a few times and she's some type of icon and spokesperson. Kelly aint done a third of the **** Gaga has for the gay community, and that's why I respect her and what she's doing even though she gets on my nerves sometimes.
Honestly, these gerls love to diss Gaga when it comes to the whole gay thing, but what are they doing? Are they out actively doing things in order to forward the gay community? Or are they going to pride hooking up with other men?

She still does too, which shows she hasn't forgotten about her early supporters.

Again, the string of the guy bullying/suicides was in the fall. "Born This Way" was written in February of that year.

Also if people like Lady Gaga don't speak for our rights who will? The gay community? Last time I checked those **** are disgracing my homosexual sexuality getting caught doing nasty **** in bathroom stalls, and opening up gay saunas which might aswell be ***** houses. Disgusting.
And what is their problem exactly. "Oh Lady Gaga is trying to get us more rights because of her status, we don't want her help". Every group of people that are isolated by society get accepted into society due to the work of people who have high profile names helping the less fortunate. They will have to accept and just deal with it. Lady Gaga is doing great work

What i think it was his mais point (and mine actually) is that she sing about the hard life of gay, straight, lesbian, transgendered, but she sings that from the outside. Only the ones who lived the life knows really how it feels.
