What?! I grew up in a Muslim family from Iran. Basically everyone I knew was homophobic, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. As for TV? 100% straight people. Not a gay or gay couple in sight. How come I didn't turn out straight? Seeing someone on a damn show doesn't influence ****. People are born with a predisposition to whatever sexuality they are. Stop acting like being gay is a bad thing.

And I'm not saying its a bad thing. I'm saying that's not what I want 4 my children. Gay has complications and all these negative connotations with the STDs and stuff.

Actually, with the recent rise of hook-up college culture, young straight people will be as at-risk for STIs as gay men within a few years. Your children ain't safe.

It was unnecessary for her to write them that note, but I understand where she's coming from. Even the people who aren't against gay marriage, doesn't always mean they want their own children to be gay.
At 7 years old, a child is highly influenced by what they see in their environment. Truth is, most parents want their children to be straight, get married, have kids of their own and not be subject to the stigmas that come with being gay.

I'm not going to demean my self-worth so other people can feel good about their bigoted opinions.
