Christina's voice or what's left of it is not enough to make her a legend. Mariah Carey is an amazing vocalist with greater commercial success and longevity than Christina, and if she's not a legend, Christina definitely isn't. .
H A at those saying Shakira and Xtina are bigger music legends then Britney. Then why has ...Baby One More Time, Oops!...I Did It Again + Toxic made a bigger impact and are more remembered than their careers? Not to mention Britney's other iconic songs, videos, performances, influence, impact, moments, life, etc... all legendary and make up a huge chunk of pop culture. Oh and it isn't just Disney stars that have respect towards Britney, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Kanye, Gaga, Adele, Lana, Mariah, Rihanna, Beyonce and the list goes on of the many artists that have all expressed praise to Britney and her career.
I voted for Britney and Beyonce, Britney's already a legend and Beyonce is almost there. They will then be followed by Gaga.
Well, this is your opinion. She's one of the greatest voices of all time and I have receipts to prove that. If you don't wanna accept it,it's your problem.
I know she has a great voice, she is talented . . . I was just talking about a different thing related to her "legacy".

"Only talented artists are considered legends"...?
Impact + influence + fame = legend. I voted for Beyonce, Britney, Xtina and Shakira.
The thread's title is about "music legend". All of them are famous, notorious, succesful, but if you want to be in the books of music after 50 years like The Beatles, you must be a talented artist.
Britney is iconic, that's true but she's not a musician to me. She could dance back in time but now... I don't know, she lost her edge. I was a die hard Britney fan when she came out. Like I was literally dying for her but then I sorta disconnected with her.
She's an iconic pop star but music legend? Come on!

the most ironic part about your comment is that "The Beatles" never were the most talented band

Loved by and performed with the Queen and the King of Pop.
I love how Britney and Madonna stan for each other. They are really good friends and they both love each other. Madonna has always said that she admired her talent as an artist and wanted to do nothing but support her and praise her. Britney’s always named her as her ultimate inspiration. They have proudly worn each other's T-shirts before. When Britney started, Madonna said that she would become a living legend, enjoy longevity and enduring success, and compared her to Michael and herself.
During the breakdown, she stuck up for saying she didn't get to make mistakes privately and try things out, that she was watched, judged, under a microscope since she started, and that people shouldn't believe everything they read. She also recently said that she was extremely happy Britney found balance in life.
Madonna’s also always said that she felt maternal towards her and that she recognized aspects of herself in Britney. She even gave her a diamond 'B' necklace a few years ago. She has a matching 'M' necklace.
They've both said that they're still in contact, talking about stuff in general, talking about how they're handling things, doing what they do, especially now that they're both moms, often asking each other questions like ‘I have a problem with this, how would you deal with that?’

Well Ironically between Brit and Xtina ...... Britney is the only one who plays instruments (Piano), and Briteny is the only one of them who has actually written/composed a song by her own without the help of any co-writter or co-composer.
Britney is not only a legend, she is an icon. In her debut, she revolutionized pop music and still continued to do so with Blackout and Femme Fatale. She will forever be remembered from her Mickey Mouse days to her recent endeavor, FF.
...and I hate to admit it, but Beyonce is also a legend. She's a great talent and I admire the roll she has played in pop culture/music.
as to everyone else...some of them will get there and some of them won't.
the most ironic part about your comment is that "The Beatles" never were the most talented band
I never said they are the most talented, but they are/were talented Are you going to compare their songs to Oops I Did It Again and Baby One More Time? (Well, she didn't even write those).
Beyonce and Christina are the closest to ones in our generation. Their level of respect + commercial success is undeniable. I know people here dislike Christina, but her level of respect is very high amongst legends (which is probably why she is so overrated to some).
There are a couple on that list that has had the impact, but the level of respect is minimal. That's why they will remain iconic but won't ever become legendary.
Wow, I love reading posts like this one. Yes to everything.

all of them are famous NOW, but only few made the impact that will be imprinted in people's minds in a long time from now (that's in the nature of the word legendary) IMO.

Lol exactly, but they're considered the most legendary because of their impact and basically changing the game.
I think only Britney & Beyonce are capable of this status as of right now. They BOTH have the commercial success, the praise from Critics, Peers, Legends.
and the influence & cultural & music impact amongst the others.

The delusion of this post.
What impact did Toxic and Oops I Did It Again have on the Music Industry?. The word "iconic" is so overused and cliche at this point, i don't even know what to say. No one in real life remembers those moments, shiny outfits or dance routines you seem to cherish so dearly, kid.
