It's just the simple lyrics, and the visuals you get when listening to this song that makes it so incredible. There's just a great amount of warmth to this song, it soothes you and can't help but make you feel calm. It is certainly Tim's best single he's released since his glory days.
#9. Sara Evans - Slow Me Down
I feel everyone is at this point in a relationship at least once in their life. Sara sings about how she's ready to leave and unless her partner comes and tries to slow her down as she leaves, than she won't be coming back. It is a perfect blend of pop and country, and Sara has never sounded so confident on a record before.
#8. Kacey Musgraves - Keep it to Yourself
Kacey is a master lyricist and portrays the hurt everyone feels when an ex lover moves on. The mood is depressing, and her voice can't help but make me feel the hurt she's feeling. It's a lovely song and deserved a lot more success on country radio, but hopefully with her picking up all the major awards she'll soon be a force to be reckoned with.
#7. Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood - Somethin' Bad
It may not be the strongest single each released, but you can't help but want to get up and dance to this song. It has an arena-rock sort of vibe to it. For what this song's goals were, it succeeded. It wanted to be a fun song that wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It'll easily go down as a staple in both artists' discographies.
#6. Lee Brice - I Don't Dance
I want this song to play at my wedding. Lee took a common quote and was able to write a masterpiece around it. It's just a beautiful song that has shown Lee's growth as a songwriter.

Oh I can imagine that effect one has can really ruin an artists music Sorry to hear that

I remember us talking about that. Aww that is kind of a good way to think about the song, a departure

#5. Cassadee Pope - I Wish I Could Break Your Heart
This song perfectly emotes the insecurity and vulnerability that happens to the best of us in a relationship. Wanting to have the power to break your partners heart, the way they have the power to break yours. Although overall, this song might be considered more of pop song than country I see it more as a crossover song that fits country radio at this current time very well. Cassadee's vocals are also on fire for the song which is always an added bonus. She has impressed me a great amount thus far, and hopefully as her career continues she'll remain consistent.
#4. Kacey Musgraves - The Trailer Song
I just think this song is so brilliant and clever. Kacey is an incredible artist with an immense amount of talent, and this song is another shining example of it. The production is laid back and more traditional, and her voice is sarcastic and witty that makes the song. She's here to try to change country music and escape the horrid bro-country radio we're filled with.

#3. Kira Isabella - Quarterback
Kira sung about an issue that is often largely ignored or not spoken about in country music. The song follows the story of a teenage girl who get's manipulated by a popular "quarterback" male and eventually has her naked pictures leaked online to everyone at her school. The girl, an unpopular band member, is laughed at and seen as the person who's at fault since she's the loser. The song is a reminder of a very tragic issue that both males and females experience. The serious subject matter was met with wide spread acclaim and became Kira's highest charting song on the country radio charts.

#3. Kira Isabella - Quarterback
♫ Fun fact, Quarterback was originally written to be sent to Carrie Underwood due to her dark subject matter on previous albums "Just a Dream", "Blown Away" and "Two Black Cadillacs" but her management team didn't think it would be a good career move for Carrie to record it due to her past relationship history Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.♫
#2. Carrie Underwood - Something in the Water
Carrie's risk definitely paid off when she wrote this song. Although she's always had Christian influences in her music, this is her first full out Christian Contemporary song. The production is heavenly, and the orchestra takes the song to a completely other level. The lyrics are one of a kind too, and are some of the strongest lines Carrie has ever wrote down. It's clear Carrie is comfortable with writing about her faith, and if this song is an indication of what her fifth album will sound like I'm ready for it.
