I never realized how ****** Duffy's singles were, not a single 10 from me.
What's funny is that you can almost hear where her career went off the rails. We call that song Rain on Your Parade. Catchy, but already outdated when it hit in the fall of 2008. Almost a parody of Mercy.
We'd reach the absolute parody a few years later. She was always fated to ex herself out the game, wasn't she?
My preferred top 10 (in no order):
- Rolling in the Deep
- Chasing Pavements
- Someone Like You
- Back to Black
- Tears Dry on Their Own
- Rehab
- Mercy
- Dog Days Are Over
- Shake It Out
- Smile
But never fear! MY next plan is to a Primark version of these five, with five Brits who sing ultra pop: Leona, Alexandra, Pixie, Cheryl, and someone else.
Yeah if you could give us a full week then I'm definitely in!
Sure!
And I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Lily. When she's on (and she's on in most of her singles), she's a contender for Writer of Our Generation.

You always know what lies ahead so I await to see.
