Some people are such idiots. Taylor is famous for being friends and publicly supporting lots of other female acts. Lorde, Selena, Demi Lovato, Tegan and Sara, Sara Bareilles, Ellie Goulding, Kacey Musgraves Neon Jungle, Emile Sande, Ingrid Michaelson. Not to mention Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum and these Country girls
They ALL talk glowingly about how Taylor has treated them. Just today Betty Who is freaking out on twitter because in Vogue magazine Taylor said she was listening to her.
Katy and Taylor used to be friends but Taylor feels that Katy was not acting like a friend. How are we to know whether she is wrong about that? We don't know what their interactions were like. If Taylor is no longer friends with Katy then what has that got to do with her speech about the MEDIA pitting women against each other?

Well it's true. The same can be said for all our faves. For example, Beyonce is one of my faves, and I can admit that it's really hypocritical/contradictory for her to open her visual album with 'Pretty Hurts' featuring scenes about bulimia and being self-conscious about body image and being skinny, and then a couple of songs later, have a music video featuring these women:
The fact of the matter is, ALL of our faves have contradicted themselves at some point of their careers, because like I said, the world is always watching. The thing is, haters latch on to these hypocrisies/contradictions, and constantly try using it against them.

Sorry,
no.
Writing a song about feeling betrayed by a female doesn't mean that you're not cheering on/putting down the whole female sex. It just means
that you're criticizing that specific, particular female. Just like
writing a song about feeling betrayed by a guy isn't putting down the
whole male sex.
Songwriters are allowed to write about their emotions towards others,
regardless of their gender. Being female won't make you an exception.

I think Taylor overanalyses things and reads into stuff way too much. Katy probably didn't have the time to become one of her BFFs and text her non-stop, so then when her dancers went back to her, she probably thought "Katy hates me" and when Katy and John started a relationship, she probably thought "Katy hates me" and when Kanye West featured on the E.T. remix she probably thought "Katy hates me."
I think it would have been wiser and classier to just settle it behind the scenes rather than throw someone under the bus in a song. I know Taylor communicates her feelings through song, but if she wanted to do it, she should have kept it anonymous. I kind of think letting the public/media know it's about Katy makes it a bit of a diss track, and that's just not classy.
I really hope the two of them can settle it over a mature phone conversation to explain their respective perspectives to each other

Taylor changed her phone service and it will probably cost Katy more

She's not comparing herself or pitting herself against this unnamed popstar, she's simply writing about she feels.

Not the Kats putting so much effort into trying to drag Taylor and her iconic, even-before-released song 'Bad Blood'. Nothing is confirmed. I guess The Lord wins everytime. Free promo.

I'm sorry but didn't Katy try to sabotage Taylor's tour? Even If I was against such actions, not only would I write a song about that, but I'd also release an entire album trashing the person who came for me.

It's a well known fact that Taylor is all about bashing other women when she's not on the receiving end. No news.
