Well, he does his show on the station, yes, but I don't know how much influence he actually has over what music is played. I'd think the Music Director over there would have to OK what gets played and what doesn't. The director is the same guy that's been there for over ten years since before Kelly won Idol. Some people think he's held a grudge against American Idol & Kelly since her and Justin Guarini had to pull out of their holiday concert at the last minute. He did make a statement about it back then saying it was their loss, not the station's, as many people gave them **** for even having them on the bill.
I'm not sure what to really think about it because they were supportive of Kelly during the Breakaway era (how could you not be?) but after that they've been really stingy with adding her songs. Only a few have received airplay since Breakaway - and it's been minimal. I don't think they've put her in power rotation since 2005. I think even Stronger peaked at #7 on their playlist while it was smashing and on power on every other major station in the country.
