I think they both equally will be remembered. They aren't really direct competition to each other so their legacies won't be in competition. Britney will have that popstar poster-child legacy, while Beyonce will have a queenly legacy much like Diana Ross and Tina Turner enjoy right now.

Britney is basically tarnishing her legacy every era. She's been doing it for years now. If she doesn't seriously get herself together that's the only thing people will even remember about her. And since Britney doesn't really seem to be showing any improvement or interest in getting herself together then things will only continue to go downhill for her.

For some reason, ATRL assumes that the flashiness of one's career is what will keep them remembered. But Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and other legends don't have as many "iconic" moments as Madonna per se, but they're still remembered in their own rite because of their music. The difference between Britney and Madonna tho is, musically speaking, no one will care about Britney. I mean it's' not like they care now. Her catalog sales <<<
