I nearly can't stand Madonna on most days, but no.
She's smart, makes good music according to some and is an energetic performer.
So overall, no. But as a performer, yes, a tad. She's never been that great of a performer to me and i don't understand what it is that puts her music above that of other pop artists.
I applaud her for her longevity and her ability to not only craft the sound she wants for an era, but the image.

It's not just Gaga and Brit who owe their careers to Madonna...it's Rih, Katy, Beyonce. ALL the girls. I mean they don't owe them entirely to her, but Madonna broke down the walls that they came pole-dancing through.
I've never been a big fan of hers, but I recently purchased her greatest hits and you couldn't ask for a better line up of songs. I always liked Frozen, Like A Virgin and a couple of others... But now that I've given them a chance, the majority of her biggest hits are amazing. La Isla Bonita is my favourite song from her.
Madonna should have quite the industry when she was in her prime IMO. People look at her for what she represents today and not what she accomplished in the past. Back in her prime she was head and shoulders above the rest. In twenty years the majority of today's pop girls will be viewed unfavourably by the younger generation if they're lucky enough to be remembered.

Many people try and judge her, pitting her up against up and coming legends such as Bey, Brit and Gaga(a bit too early on this one, but you will deal). Thats one big problem, music evolves Madonna fitted the mold of her time. She was the **** and not a single person could check her. She reinvented POP and she since then has added to her legacy with infectious out of this world music.

No, her vocals are not very good, it's quite irritating sometimes tbqh - but her talent is much, MUCH more than just vocals.
Just listen to her discography. I'm completely fascinated about her playing with images and sounds, experimenting, pushing boundaries...
