Every time this thread comes up I try to show people why it's wrong but for some reason everyone's so obsessed with this "preference" thing and refuse to view the issue any differently. I feel any discussion about this on ATRL is a hopeless endeavor.

There is nothing wrong with only liking one race/certain races, you cant help what you like. It's the same as being gay/bi, you don't choose it.

That said. I'm Spanish and Filipino or white hispanic/asian and I don't find hispanics or blacks attractive. It's just a personal preference I have; it doesn't mean that I can't respect them assuming they're a good person, but I'm not physically attracted to them.

It has a lot to do with eurocentric beauty standards i think and how for centuries people have been taught that black is lesser and that black people, among other things, are not as attractive as white people. blackness has always been seen as disgusting. The media often reinforces this even today and so i think the main point is to examine if your lack of attraction to black people is because of social conditioning and eurocentric beauty standards. Also, not all black people have the same features and its just stereotyping.
I mean, i don't think you should have to date or be attracted to anyone but yeah. and while a lot can come down to european beauty standards, a lot of people do just have a preference that they can't help. im torn.

Don't most people have some sort of preference? I'm white and prefer Middle Eastern or Mediterranean guys. That doesn't mean I wouldn't date a white guy, an Asian guy or a black guy.
