the "they can relate" makes sense on the surface, but when you're in love and in a relationship you usually want to spend as much time together as possible and build a strong trust-worthy bond.

It's ok, I'm not offended. I don't really think the complexity of someone's logic comes down to how they think about the dating lives of celebrities.
That being said, imagine how much harder it would be for a world famous superstar who's worth $200 million to just meet some average Joe and fall in love with him. The people who are allowed access to Taylor Swift is apparently so controlled. That limits her dating pool to other celebrities and the straight crew-men who build her touring stages, cause her dancers would probably be gay. Plus if she did go out of her way to try and meet a regular guy, it would be so hard to sift out who saw her for her and who saw her for worldwide fame and 200 million dollars.
She seems like the sort of girl who would watch 'Notting Hill' and yearn for it to happen to her, even though that would never happen.
