Not Rihanna stans vs Katy stans. Please keep it cute, they both friends and they both slaying, Rihanna is ahead of Katy because she has more albums/singles, but they are both the biggest popstars right now.
Don't need to shade any of them, Rihanna has HUGE hits like (Umbrella, Diamonds and We Found Love), but Katy has her Global hits too, (Roar, IKAG and Firework).

If you compared her album and overall era(Album + Single sales + songs impact) to Kelly's Thankful, Rihanna's Music Of The Sun and A Girl Like Me, Nelly's Whoa Nelly and P!nk's Take Me Home, Ke$ha's Animal to name a few....this album's success trumps most of them and balances out with some of them. I'm not saying it's career defining but she did pretty amazing for a debut artist.

Sure, that's why Katy has 3 songs that have sold more. I know it's not all about sales but I mean "Firework" alone is so memorable that it enters the top 100 even top 50 every 4th of July and NYE at times ever since it's release. Plus, it's still played, talked about and a huge singing tv show anthem. Umbrella is one of the most iconic songs ever but seeing as how Firework is 2x bigger and I Kissed A Girl always being referenced in tv shows, movies, quoted by tons of music artists ect.) then I personally have to disagree with that statement.
