Thank goodness Shania released some new music in the past year so that this wouldn't be her last official single. That would be a sad way to end a career. This single was created as the official single for the second season of Desperate Housewives, which is so random because the song doesn't sound like the show at all. So, the "men are like shoes" metaphor is cute, but the song doesn't go anywhere and Shania sounds lifeless. Shania's known for the killer choruses and this doesn't have one. The song peaked at #29 on the US Country chart, so it was a flop.
This was the third and final single released from Shania's debut album. It didn't chart ANYWHERE! HA! Really, it's a miracle she ever got a second album released after this flop Her voice sounds really good on this, though. The song as a whole just isn't very captivating.
I like "Shoes" although it isn't my favorite. I think the chorus is kind of catchy. The other song is totally forgettable and fails to live up to the standard that Shania established with the rest of her ballads.
Woah, this song is so random. Why is Shania honky-tonk all of the sudden? This was the last single from Shania's great hits compilation. I'm not really feeling this from her. It just doesn't seem genuine considering her best stuff is mostly country-pop. Also, her voice sounds really strange in this recording. The song peaked at #45 on the US Country chart, so even country radio wasn't here for the honky-tonk!
