No, they didn't write the original. They changed 4 words of the song and put their name on the credits on their album. Kelly sings the original on her album, that's why they aren't credited.

Am I missing something because it's the same lyrics, their song and Kelly's song, Bill Kaulitz is the main writer of the song who is the lead singer of the band.

Songwriting is more than just lyrics people.

I'm not going to weigh in on this topic cause I'm never going to hear this song, but just thought id put it out there.

I can't really blame her, unless she was a fan then she wouldn't have known, it's not like the song was ubiquitous so that the GP would know it, I certainly didn't. That said, either someone at her label should have checked, and/or the original writers should have said that they had sent it to other acts.

No one knew this song existed prior to this "scandal." The video only has 3 million view. TH is trying to make the most of this limelight to have people check out their music/raise their profile but in reality, they're a non-factor and ultimately, the industry will side with Kelly and John. Sorry, not sorry. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Grammy winners stay winning.

You do get I'm siding with Kelly and John right, the ending was just unnecessary

I haven't seen TH trying to make a huge deal over it beyond the fact they released it first, just because they aren't big in America doesn't mean that they aren't big in Europe. They're far from a non-factor.

I never said anything about production, if they wrote the part for an instrument that wasn't on the original demo or if they wrote a vocal harmony, what does that have to do with production? It's something that will be in the song regardless of who produces it and how so it is part of composing the song.

TH are known far beyond Germany, if you weren't so biased and negative towards them (which I really don't understand) you would be able to acknowledge that.

I'm not being biased. I knew of them from a couple years ago when the lead singer was going through an Edward Scissorhand phase and had a song on the Bubbling Under chart. Cute song but they never made an impact in the biggest music market in the world. How am I biased when only .01% of America has heard about them?

I am among the ones who listened to Tokio Hotel's version regularly before Kelly's came out.

Tokio Hotel certainly added that high note during the chorus and made the very last word "run" lower. I miss that in Kelly's version.

By saying that being relatively unknown in America equals being relatively unknown everywhere else. We all know they never were big in the States, but they were and are successful in South America, Asia and Europe. Just because they haven't had a break through in one market doesn't mean all their other achievements don't exist.
