Plus, it's better than most of Taylor Swifts songs.

I can't tell how many Facebook statuses I saw saying 'Taylor Swift should never ever write again...", yet I saw literally zero insulting Firework.

This literally proves my point earlier. That lyric is awful, but it certainly doesn't represent Katy's songwriting abilities as A WHOLE. And neither do the spare few lyrics you keep pulling out of Taylor's discography.

Those lyrics don't sound "genuine" at all, they just sound like lyrics from any old pop song. It's clear you just dislike Katy and will say anything to discredit her.

Oh your facebook feed? Certifiable then!
You know what is certifiable in the music industry? Critical acclaim, Grammys, album AND single sales (I know right ), and constant praise from musical legends/ well-known producers about your songwriting ability.
Stevie Nicks calling you the savior of the music industry, not Bonnie McKee wishing to send you away so she doesnt have to write songs for you.

I truly don't dislike her (she's the 4th most listened female on my library). Neither was I saying she's a bad songwriter. I was just saying Taylor is far better than her, even at her lowest.

Yes, that's true of many of her songs, like Peacock, California Gurls, IKAG etc. Those songs work well as stupid pop songs, which they're intended to be.
What we're talking about how sad it is that even in her "serious" songs she sings embarrassingly corny or mediocre lyrics, or else hits every songwriting cliché in the book.

Our Song, Love Story, You Belong With Me, Fifteen, Fearless, Mine, Mean, Sparks Fly, Ours, 22, Everything Has Changed, Today Was A Fairytale, Safe & Sound. NONE of those songs are break up songs

Exactly! Some songs are meant to be silly. That's what we love about them.
And the last part is sadly true.

Rank yourself on the delusional stan scale from one to ten. Go.

Excuse me, but I'M not the one making baseless claims against anyone. I was merely using Gaga as an example, because without proof you can say "we don't know for SURE how much she really wrote" as just as anyone.

There is an interview on yt where Greg Wells says that Katy basically comes with
half of a song complete, basic chord pattern, melody, first verse and chorus.
& that he basically just builds around that.

There isn't anything corny or cliché about The One That Got Away, Thinking of You, Not Like the Movies, Who Am I Living For?, Pearl, I'm Still Breathing, Lost, It Takes Two, Choose Your Battles, etc. though.
