"Out of the Woods" wasn't released that long ago, was it? Honestly, that's where it should've ended; it would've been the perfect single to end the era with. I know the fans wanted "New Romantics," but I think it's a bit overrated in comparison to some of the other album tracks on 1989, and I feel like it's really dragging the era out because her label knows she's supposedly not going to be doing that much for a few years.

The album won AOTY, she is beyond happy with that, so she gave the fans what they wanted ever since the album was released. Don't see where's the problem? Especially since they obviously don't care if it flops (see OOTW).

I don't necessarily have a problem with her pleasing her fans; I'm actually really glad she cares that much about her fans. But I've always thought "New Romantics" is overrated. And I feel like the era is being dragged out now, and I wish they wouldn't have announced it so fast, especially being that she just performed "Out of the Woods" on the Grammys, so it's just starting to pick up on radio a bit (at least where I am). It doesn't make sense to me.

Well Beyonce released 8 singles with IASF but Broken-Hearted Girl was released everywhere except for the US and Video Phone was only urban single so techincally she released 6.

So yea, Taylor is the 1st one in a looooong time.

It was obviously a wrong choice for a single. Besides, 1 flop doesn't mean the following single can't smash even if it's a 7th single
