I see Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez all in your set. All three of these artists were heavily influenced by her yet it's shocking that a Fighter would say she isn't a legend
I am a huge fan of Britney and I am in no way trying to undermine her success. I never claimed Xtina, Selena or Miley to be legends and I don't see how that's relevant People are entitled to their opinions and I don't think Britney is a legend
And I've yet to see someone mention the fact that nearly every single new artist has cited Britney Spears as a major influence and many of them have called her a living legend. I mean, what more proof do you need? If the next generation of musicians is referring to Britney as a legend, how can you deny that she is, in fact, a LIVING LEGEND?
Just One Example:
"I want her to realize how really dope she is and how she's a living legend. You know when you're 30 you don't realize what you are, I want her to take herself out of it and realize, 'I'm Britney Spears'.
- Miley Cyrus
So all I got from this long ass message is she sold a bunch of records. It takes more than that to be a legend. Brit is more of an icon
This is all from a quick Youtube run and the legacy section on Wikipedia (sue me, I use them as a source lol) and has nothing to do with her sales:

The fact that she’s one of the most talked about – not just pop stars – but people in the world today, means that you’ve got this star power. Adele has also stated multiple times that she is a big fan of Britney. In fact, Adele once cancelled her show by calling in sick just to go to a Britney concert that was on the same day.
And there's tons and tons more that can be discussed and explored. Sales aren't the only thing she's got under her belt, though she's sure got a of them!
No one on ATRL actually knows. The answer will only reveal itself when Britney and us, for that matter, are all dead. Maybe the 12 year olds can check this thread in 2070 or something and drag.

I believe so. She's had commercial success, she's a household name, she's influenced many artists who came after her, etc. Sure she's lacking in the GP respect department, but when you think about it, almost every female is viewed poorly in the eyes of the GP.

that's true. Madonna, Barbara, Whitney, and even throw in Michael and Elvis were all ridiculed/belittled by the GP

and look where all the legendary iconic-ness got ha
She was until 2005 then she went downhill personally and musically. Her music has and will never be legendary.
When I think of a legend, I think of someone like Tina Turner, a woman in her 50's(?) who still moves and sings her hardest like her shows back in the day.
Britney, of course cares more about family but if we really wanted to go that far, then no she's nothing more than any average pop star who has sex appeal and added choreo to music
and look where all the legendary iconic-ness got ha
Every artist has duds and flops, including the legendary ones
----
^^ Oh, and no offense, but not many people think of Tina Turner as a legend. I can't name a single song of hers.
Sis, there are so many fails in your post First of all, did you know a music video is not a performance? I shouldn't have to explain this to an ATRL regular.
Destiny's Child pre-Britney:
Destiny's Child post-Britney
I don't know where the disconnect is; maybe you think there's something wrong with being influenced by another artist or you think I'm trying to discredit Destiny's Child (like I've already said, I stanned for DC/Bey for years, think Bey's a legend, etc.), but the proof is literally in front of you. Their "Lose My Breath" choreo even has part of the "Born To Make You Happy" choreo in it. I don't know how I can make it more obvious.
