Can someone please explain in detail what exactly determines being seated in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. row? Is there some kind of logic?

Accepting awards / performing / camera time. You wouldn't for instance seat P!nk in the 11th row if she was going to perform twice and accept three awards. It'd take up too much time waiting for her to get on stage and exit for costume changes.
