the first time I heard the song was when it premiered on BBC, I was at class, doing a group activity, was like, oh cool an uptempo song, then it slowed down like wtf it wasnt even clear, later when I heard it at home was slayed!

YESSS!! It totally saves the song from being dragged out with the repeated chorus. What I love about West Coast is that it has so many layers & elements to it that it's never a boring listen. It keeps the listener on their toes, while still staying vibe-y, sexy, & spaced out in its own little world.

From trip-hoppy BTD echoes to 90s hip-hoppy synths Yes, one friend told me it makes the song for him, it really gives it a different edge. I'm still uncovering different layers and levels in the song, truly a masterpiece.
