I don't even remember what it was like before scrobbling. Ten year last.fm anniversary coming up next month.

Although I was obsessed with counting my plays even before then, one of the first things I ever programmed was a plugin that counted my mp3 plays.

I only use Spotify for singles I don't have now.

They never put the (feat. ___) in songs, or it's always "___ - feat. Example"

I hate when last.fm auto-corrects a song just to add "feat. (insert artist here)" -- esp. since I never have it like that in iTunes.

It's when you listen to songs and have them recorded on your account. It essentially lets you see what you've been listening to daily, weekly, monthly, etc. so it's a pretty cool tool. Most people use last.fm to scrobble music from itunes/spotify/windows media player. It's such a pain to deal with when you're concerned with proper naming conventions for artists/albums/songs though

Honestly, it makes listening to music exhausting, I stopped scrobbling my phone's plays for the longest cause I couldn't keep up with the pressure of editing all the info and looking up all the right tags, what's most used and
what's not, etc etc etc.

It's kinda cool tho, to track plays....for no obvious outcome/reasons

You can turn autocorrect off on the settings under website tabs. It's not very accurate, closer to the naming conventions of spotify which messes up featured artists songs often.
