Life Is Strange sold well, but that's partially due to how it was released. The studios previous game, Remember Me don't so terribly, that it nearly made Capcom go out of business.

Final Fantasy X-2 sold over 4.5 million units.

Final Fantasy XIII saga sold over 10 million units (with 7 million being from the first game). Final Fantasy VI probably has a good amount of legacy sales and both main characters are women.

Outside of RPGs, Tomb Raider just sold a shitton and Bayonetta 1 and 2 are some of the most critically acclaimed games ever made (not to mention actually some of the best games ever made) though I don't think Anita is a fan of Bayonetta even though Bayo is someone actually owning her sexuality.
