This is why labels almost never ever do discounts for hits. You're slashing the price in half therefore have to sell 2x the downloads prior to make the profit back and then some more for it to be a successful discount. Then once the discount is taken down the song will sell even less, so it's really just biting yourself.

It's usually best to discount when the airplay is at a maximum (LFN, Wide Awake, TOTGA, WIWYM, for example) because it enhances its possible chart peak. It seems like that's what their label was doing as well. And it's obvious that their label is just gunning for something higher, although I don't think it'll get anywhere past four.
