Katy Perry is rumored to be gearing up for her third album, with a summer 2013 release date in mind. PerezHilton.com reveals that the "Part of Me" singer has started to work with her songwriting team of Greg Wells and Bonnie McKee.
While Perry has not publicly confirmed anything about her third album, she has hinted in various interviews that her sound is going to take a darker turn.
Most observers feel that this would be a reflection of her recent divorce with comedian Russell Brand and perhaps the even more recent flop of her concert film, Part of Me.
In another interview with Capital FM, however, Perry insisted that her failed relationship would not be re-lived in any of her future songs.
Perry's last album was 2010's Teenage Dream, which was then re-released as a deluxe version with Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.
