I had the time of my life!!
We were in the queue before 4pm so you can only imagine how weary my legs were by 8:45 when she hit the stage. Many people sat on the ground prior to the opening acts but I have long legs and Im not the most flexible so I pretty much stood vigil while my friends took bathroom breaks, refilled their plastic cups etc.
Ingrid did good for an opening act but her material may just be too urban for the average Croker concert-goer. She particularly seemed abit vexed with the audience during her last song, "Flex"
Chloe x Halle ... God love them; their material isnt suited to stadiums at all. It was one mid after mid. My friend said if he wanted to sway all night he woulda gone to church
They showed off their musicianship though and their closing dance break was a genius move to bow out with a bang
And now for the main course ... I swear this woman is magnificent in person. Her clothing, make-up all fit her like a glove. Her presence is so ethereal i'd probably pay just to watch her stand in a spot for an hour. Her voice was in pristine condition. She eschewed the stamina of an athlete half her age.
This is my 3rd time seeing her live but it's the 1st time I've managed to restrain myself from watching clips. As time went by, I kept praying during the interludes that the show wasn't coming close to the finale. I ran over a dozen songs in my head that she could possibly perform in the subsequent segment
but I'd always known that Freedom is performed in the concluding segment.
It's a struggle to pick a favourite moment; Formation matched and surpassed all the hype of a stadium concert opener one could possibly fathom. 1+1 was just magical. Party was a pleasant surprise cusI didnt even know it was nor expected it on the setlist. If I were to have any quibble at all, I wish CIL and the EOT/GW mash-up were longer but that said she was on stage for precisely 2 hours; 8:45 - 10:45.

When did she stop performing Single Ladies and 7/11 though?
