To me, this song is proof that Rihanna needs to do an entire album that sounds like this. Her voice was made for Caribbean / Latin inspired music.. well, not MOTS or AGLM type music, but I don't know.. this song just makes sense to me if that makes sense to anyone else lol

yas! honestly Rih's verse on this song is my favorite part of her entire discography, and not because it happen to be on Queen Shakira's song. Her voice just suits this soooo well. Not saying she doesn't make other great bops, but she could be making amazingly unique bops like that verse. hope this collab maybe inspired her to explore this direction for R8

There are risks in the decisions she makes and she has made them so many times. This was obviously not the most expected outcome from two Pop girls. Obviously she felt fine with that, so you repeatedly rubbing in statements about how don't think it will perform well and how you don't like it are grating at this point.

Anyway, Shakira has a higher Metacritic average than all your fave Pop girls, so peace.

There's always free-falling to worry about. It won't mean as much to us Rih stans, but for the Shak stans I hope that doesn't happen.

I was in the car briefly today (at the top of the hour too when they usually spin the radio deals) and I heard Timber and Counting Stars on my 2 pop stations. Weird considering everyone says it has a radio deal.

I'm not saying that Shakira didn't take a risk or anything, it is risky and non-generic. It's just not amazing, especially the chorus. But I've said this over and over and there's no need for me to say it again apparently.

And yeah congrats to Shakira's Metacritic score. I could say that my fave has a higher IQ than Shakira but that has literally no relevance to the song, just like Shakira's past Metacritic scores don't either.

I agree, Shaki probably won't drag Rih out for something like GMA. But I still want Shaki to do it alone at a few places + a RIh/Shaki performance at both The Grammys and The Brits. I have a feeling The Grammys aren't happening though (would've been announced by now). So then hopefully we'll get The Voice & The Brits performances with the two together
