I don't get the comparisons to Gods & Monsters (not just because it is one of my least favourite ones, don't judge me).
The production on this one, the change in pace, the wall off sound,. Gods & Monsters wishes to be this perfect and full of layers.
The chorus is similar. At some point you can even start singing G&M's chorus. But it's not that conspicuous because they are very different in every other aspect.

G&M is among my absolute faves despite having hardly any melody. The West Coast's chorus is basically G&M on steroids
i still think BB and AF will be on the album. they all sort of have similar references.
AF says, "You are California-proud. You are angels of the night."
California -> West Coast, and all three songs talk about a depressed, dark kind of lover.
Also, West Coast and Black Beauty both have spanish influences (you like your women spanish, and then the spanish words in WC).
i hope, anyway. i like the cohesiveness of all three, hope the rest of the record is like that (i'm sure it will be).

G&M is one of my absolute favorite Lana cuts. WC sounds like a breezier version of it.
