I didn’t like it. The book (which I couldn’t even finish) actually does some things better than the movie, like not revealing Christian Grey to the audience until he’s revealed to Anastasia and creating all this anticipation by showing us his world but not him. The movie starts off with Christian getting ready for work They don’t tease anything out.

The movie has endless scenes where they negotiate and fight over the sex contract. But when he finally takes her to his “red room of pain” or w/e he just ties her up and tickles her with some leather contraptions . That’s it? I sat through an hour of negotiating for that? Plus Jamie Dornan (who’s good on The Fall) is SO bad. But it’s the character’s fault, not his. At least Dakota Johnson actually elevates her character into something a little less pathetic than in the book.

But when the epic CiL remix came blaring through the speakers in the theatre…I was ready to end my words with capital T’s and my sentences with “girl blewp!”
